The Township gets its power to pass by-laws through the Province of Ontario which specifies what things the Township may regulate through by-laws.  Some of the Township's By-laws and Policies are listed below.  For more information on Township By-laws and Policies, please call 519-463-5347.


Accountability and Transparency Policy - The Township Accountability and Transparency Policy outlines how the Township is accountable for its actions, and the manner in which the municipality will try to ensure that its actions are transparent to the public.

Animal Control By-law - A by-law to regulate or prohibit the keeping of animals, birds or reptiles in the Township of Blandford-Blenheim.

Cemetery By-law - A by-law to govern municipal cemeteries.


Dog Licencing - The Licence fee for every dog is $15.00 annually.  An additional $5.00 fee is imposed after April 1 of every year.

Parking By-law - The Parking By-law regulates parking on some roads within the Township; mostly within the Township Villages.

 

Property Standards By-law - The Township requires property owners to maintain their properties to a minimum standard. 

Procedure By-law - This By-law governs how Council conducts its meetings, and how the public can address Council.


Purchasing By-law - The Township's Purchasing Policy. 

Maintaining Land in a Clear and Clean Condition By-law - Property owners must keep their land clean and clear of debris. 


Municipal Alcohol Policy - The Municipal Alcohol Policy applies to events occuring on lands or property owned by the Township; at Township public events held at any location; at public events, where the approval of the Township is requested held on premises owned by third parties and on Township owned lands and premises where there is no event taking place.


Notice By-law -  This By-law governs when and how the Township will provide notice to the public.  Notice By-law Appendix A  

Noise By-law - This By-law regulates noise within the Township.  

Outdoor Recreational Events By-law - This By-law regulates outdoor recreational events within the Township.

Sale of Land By-law - This By-law prescribes procedures for the Township regarding the disposal of land.  


Site Plan By-law - Some forms of development are subject to a site plan agreement.  The Township's Site Plan Control Guidelines have more information.


Smoking By-law - There is no smoking within 9 metres of designated Township facilities.


Snow Vehicles - No person shall operate a snow vehicle on any sidewalk, or boulevard within the built up areas of the Township. 
 
Zoning By-law - The Township Zoning By-law regulates land use, and lot provisions.
