The Township of Blandford-Blenheim Council met on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at 4:00 p.m. in Council Chambers. The meeting was livestreamed on the Township’s YouTube channel.

Below are key decisions and discussions:

Planning & Committee of Adjustment

  • Held a Committee of Adjustment meeting for Minor Variance MVA-04-25 (108 Main Street S.).

Delegations

  • Balkwill Family Road Dedication Request – Council received a request to dedicate a portion of Blenheim Road to the Balkwill family and directed staff to prepare a report for a future meeting.

  • Plattsville & District Lions Club – Council received a request for naming rights to the Plattsville Park Pavilion; staff will prepare a report for a future meeting.

  • SCOR Economic Development Corporation – Received the annual regional partner update from Executive Director Kimberley Earls and Jennifer Kyle.

Protective Services

  • Received the August Fire Services Report (FC-25-13).

  • Approved allocating the Ontario Firefighter Cancer Prevention Grant to outlined initiatives (FC-25-14).

  • Received the Camp 85 Review (FC-25-15).

  • Authorized $122,000 in 2025 expenditures for the Princeton Fire Station Project, funded from the Fire Reserve (FC-25-16).

Drainage

  • Accepted a petition for drainage works (Sparks Drain) and directed notification to the Grand River Conservation Authority (DS-25-02).

Finance

  • Adopted the 2026 Operating and Capital Budget Schedule (TR-25-12).

Communications & Corporate Services

  • Adopted the Corporate Communications Plan 2025 as a guiding framework (DC-25-09).

  • Recognized the launch of the redesigned municipal website and directed ongoing promotion and analytics monitoring (DC-25-12).

  • Approved an amendment to the Graphic Image By-law 2354-2023 (DC-25-10 / By-law 2513-2025).

  • Set January 2026 meeting dates:

    • Cancelled January 7, 2026, Regular Meeting.

    • January 14, 2026, Regular Meeting – 4:00 p.m.

    • January 21, 2026, Budget Meeting – 10:00 a.m. (DC-25-11).

Other Business

  • Mayor Peterson highlighted the 175th Drumbo Fair, taking place Sept 20–21.

  • Council moved into Closed Session to discuss solicitor-client privileged legal matters and provided direction to staff regarding Report CAO-25-23.

  • Confirming By-law 2514-2025 was passed.

Council will meet again on Wednesday, October 1, 2025 at 4:00 p.m. in Council Chambers, 47 Wilmot St. S., Drumbo. Meetings are open to the public and streamed live on the Township’s YouTube channel.
