The Township’s 2026 Draft Budget outlines how municipal funds are allocated to deliver essential services and invest in our community.

Operating Budget Breakdown (2026)

Public Works – 33%
Road maintenance, snow clearing, gravel roads, roadside cutting, bridges, fleet, equipment, and infrastructure upkeep across the Township.

Protective Services – 15%
Fire services, emergency response, firefighter training, equipment, and station operations.

Police – 13%
OPP policing costs.

Community Services – 13%
Parks, recreation facilities, splash pads, ball diamonds, cemeteries, community halls, and community programming spaces.

Building & Drainage – 5%
Building inspections, permits, compliance, and municipal drainage administration.

Council & Administration – 17%
Governance, finance, customer service, planning support, and day-to-day municipal operations.

Infrastructure Debt Payments – 3%
Annual payments on previously completed infrastructure projects.

 

What’s New in 2026?

Key investments proposed in the draft budget include:

  • Water rescue equipment for firefighter safety

  • Fire station contaminant removal at Plattsville Fire Hall for cancer prevention

  • Road base improvements (Township Road 3B)

  • Shared shoulder machine with neighbouring municipalities

  • Safety mesh at the Drumbo ball diamond and fencing at the Plattsville ball diamond

  • Splash pad system upgrades in Drumbo and Plattsville

  • Completion of the Princeton Road / Stormwater Project

  • Completion of the Princeton Fire Hall

  • Aerial / Pumper Truck

  • Hard surfacing of Township Road 12 (Blenheim Rd to Trussler Rd)

  • Reconstruction of Bridge 24
