Contract Employment Opportunity: Parks Attendant, Community Services
The Township of Blandford-Blenheim is seeking up to two (2) Contract Parks Attendants for the summer term in the Community Services Department, with employment anticipated from May 1, 2026, to September 5, 2026.

Under the direction of the Manager of Community Services or designate, the Parks Attendant will perform general maintenance, custodial duties, and program-related tasks in the operation and upkeep of Township facilities. The primary responsibilities of this position include maintaining the cleanliness of park grounds and buildings, grooming softball fields, grass cutting at various Township locations, and general cleanup of the arena and municipal cemeteries. The position requires weekend availability and attendance during tournaments and special events, as well as varied shifts including some evenings.
Ideal candidates will possess the following skills and qualifications:

Valid Ontario Class G driver’s licence with a clean abstract

Police Records Check including Vulnerable Sector Screening

Experience as a park worker or in a similar role

Ability to perform maintenance, cleaning, and housekeeping duties to ensure safe facility operations

Experience operating equipment such as trucks, infield groomers, mowers, blowers, and trimmers

Experience using power tools and hand tools

Experience in cleaning and building maintenance

Current First Aid and CPR certification

High school diploma or equivalent

Basic computer skills

Experience driving a pickup truck and towing a trailer with equipment

Strong customer service, organizational, and decision-making skills

Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team

Strong physical dexterity
Compensation: $21.05 per hour, based on a 40-hour work week, with required weekend and evening availability.
