Oxford County’s annual Large Item Collection program begins in Ingersoll on March 30, 2026, and will take place across area municipalities on scheduled weeks through early July.

In Blandford-Blenheim, Large Item Collection will occur May 25–29, 2026. Collection takes place on your regular waste collection day during that week.

This curbside collection is intended for oversized household items only and is not a general spring cleanup program. Acceptable items include furniture, mattresses and box springs, carpet rolls (cut, rolled and bundled to a maximum length of 3 feet), pool filters (with sand removed), pool covers (bundled), and water softeners (empty of salt and contents).

Items such as glass and mirrors, automotive parts, small household garbage that can fit in a bag, and materials placed in cardboard boxes, trailers, or wagons will not be collected.

Residents are reminded that:

  • Items must be set out by 7:00 a.m. on the day of collection
  • Bag tags are not required for large items
  • Each item must not exceed 45 kg (100 lbs)
  • Residents are responsible for removing any uncollected or unacceptable items

Residents are encouraged to consider alternatives to disposal, including donating, selling, or reusing items where possible.
