Oxford County Council has approved new speed management and traffic calming measures that will be implemented in 2026 in several Blandford-Blenheim communities. These measures are intended to improve road safety for all users, including drivers, pedestrians, cyclists, and residents.

Gobles – Oxford Road 2

  • Reducing the posted speed limit to 60 km/h through Gobles

  • Installing speed feedback signs at the 60 km/h speed zone limits

Plattsville – Oxford Road 8

  • Addition of flexible delineators on both sides of the median to reduce effective lane widths and provide more horizontal deflection to help moderate vehicle operating speeds

Washington – Oxford Road 8

  • Installing flexible centreline delineators at both approaches

  • Eliminating the 60 km/h speed transition zones

  • Relocating speed feedback signs to the limits of the 50 km/h speed zone

Windfall – Oxford Road 29

  • Reducing the posted speed limit to 60 km/h through Windfall

  • Installing speed feedback signs at the 60 km/h speed zone limits

These road safety measures were approved following traffic reviews, evaluation of previous traffic calming initiatives, and consideration of public feedback received through correspondence and a public meeting held on February 25, 2026.
