Oxford Municipalities Hosting Candidate Information Session

Oxford County’s eight area municipalities are partnering to host a Candidate Information Session in preparation for the 2026 Municipal and School Board Election.

The session will take place on Thursday, March 26, 2026, at 6:00 p.m., both virtually and in person in the Council Chambers at the Oxford County Administration Building, 21 Reeve Street, Woodstock.

New, returning, and prospective candidates, as well as members of the public, are invited to attend and learn more about:

• The roles and responsibilities of Council

• Eligibility requirements

• The nomination process

• Campaign finance and advertising rules

Presentations will be provided by the Ontario Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing and municipal solicitor Nigel Bellchamber. Attendees are encouraged to submit questions in advance to their municipal clerk.

Those wishing to participate virtually may register by emailing election@cityofwoodstock.ca.

• Nomination Period: May 1 to August 21, 2026

• Election Day: Monday, October 26, 2026

• Advance voting opportunities will also be available in each municipality.
