Request for Applications: Joint Compliance Audit Committee (2026–2030)
The municipalities of Oxford County, including Blandford-Blenheim, East Zorra-Tavistock, Ingersoll, Norwich, Southwest Oxford, Tillsonburg, Woodstock, and Zorra, are seeking experienced professionals to be considered for appointment to the 2026–2030 Joint Compliance Audit Committee.
Compliance Audit Committees are required under the Municipal Elections Act, 1996 to consider applications from electors requesting audits of candidates’ and registered third party advertisers’ campaign finances. The Committee reviews these applications to determine whether an audit should be granted and, if so, appoints an auditor and considers whether legal proceedings are warranted based on the findings.
Committee members must be impartial and capable of understanding and applying the election campaign finance provisions of the Municipal Elections Act, 1996.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of municipal elections, including campaign finance rules
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills
- Experience working on a committee or task force
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
Preference will be given to applicants with experience in accounting, auditing, law, election administration, public administration, or related academic fields.
Additional Information
Successful applicants will be appointed for the term of Council and will receive remuneration at an established per diem rate, plus mileage.
The following individuals are not eligible for appointment:
- Members of Council
- Employees or officers of a municipality or local board
- Registered third party advertisers in the election
- Candidates in the election
