Student Employment Opportunity: General Labourer, Public Works
The Township of Blandford-Blenheim is seeking up to two (2) students to join the Public Works Department as General Labourers for the summer term from May 4, 2026, to August 28, 2026.
The successful applicant(s) will assist with construction, maintenance, and repair activities related to roads and municipal infrastructure. This is a hands-on, outdoor position that provides practical experience in municipal public works operations.

Ideal candidates will have the following skills and abilities:

An acceptable Police Criminal Check

A valid, unrestricted Ontario Class G driver’s licence

Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Knowledge of workplace health and safety, including the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act and WHMIS

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (23 kgs) and perform physically demanding tasks

Willingness to work in varying weather conditions

First Aid and CPR certification is considered an asset

Compensation: $21.05 per hour, based on a 40-hour work week.
