2026 Municipal Election Candidate Nomination Package Now Available

The Township of Blandford-Blenheim’s Candidate Nomination Package for the 2026 Municipal Election is now available.

This comprehensive guide has been developed to assist individuals interested in running for municipal office. It provides an overview of the nomination process, candidate eligibility, key dates, and campaign requirements, along with detailed information on campaign finance rules, election procedures, and responsibilities under the Municipal Elections Act, 1996.

The package also includes all required forms for filing a nomination, including the Nomination Form, Endorsement of Nomination, and financial statement documents. Candidates are encouraged to review the materials carefully and consult the Clerk’s Office with any questions.

Nominations for the 2026 Municipal Election open on May 1, 2026, and close on August 21, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. Voting Day is Monday, October 26, 2026.

Residents interested in running for Mayor, Deputy Mayor, or Councillor are encouraged to review the package and begin preparing in advance of the nomination period.
