Back to Search

Oxford County Council has approved several new speed management and traffic calming measures that will be implemented in 2026 in parts of Blandford-Blenheim.

The approved improvements are intended to enhance road safety for motorists, pedestrians, cyclists, and residents following traffic reviews and public feedback received earlier this year.

The following measures are planned within Blandford-Blenheim:

Gobles – Oxford Road 2

  • Reduced posted speed limit to 60 km/h through the community
  • New speed feedback signs installed at the 60 km/h zone limits

Plattsville – Oxford Road 8

  • Installation of flexible delineators on both sides of the median to help moderate vehicle speeds

Washington – Oxford Road 8

  • Installation of flexible centreline delineators at both approaches
  • Removal of the 60 km/h transition zones
  • Relocation of speed feedback signs to the 50 km/h speed zone limits

Windfall – Oxford Road 29

  • Reduced posted speed limit to 60 km/h through the community
  • New speed feedback signs installed at the 60 km/h zone limits

Oxford County noted that the improvements were approved following a review of recent traffic calming measures and consideration of public feedback received through correspondence and a public meeting held on February 25, 2026. ()
